05/06/2013 Technical director of GWP visited rehabilitation site
Georgian Water and Power continues rehabilitating networks in Tbilisi streets in current year also. Today, the Technical Director of Georgian Water and Power Ltd. Helmut Weidel, together with other managers, has inspected current works on water pipeline in Tbilisi. With monitoring purposes he visited Esma Oniani street in Digomi massive.
Esma Oniani street is on the list of the streets old and depreciated networks of which Georgian Water and Power is replacing this year. Total length of the networks to be replaced in Esma Oniani street is about 800 m. Rehabilitation works are being carried out as on the street main water pipeline network, also, on all 35 branchings, new locking-regulating armature is being installed and new water pipeline key well is being arranged in the street.
This year rehabilitation-preventive works are already completed. After rehabilitation of networks water supply for population of all these streets, including Esma Oniani street, will become much more stable.
It’s the fifth yeas since the Company has been implementing rehabilitation works in the framework of a large scale project “Rehabilitation of Tbilisi Streets Main Water Supply and Drainage Networks”. Including 2012, in the framework of the above mentioned project, Georgian Water and Power has rehabilitated underground communications in 450 streets and completely replaced more than 300 km networks.
