14/06/2013 Educational tour for students to Natakhtatri
Georgian Water and and Power held an educational and informational tour today in order to familiarize the students and teachers of Yakob Gogebashvili college with unique facilities and the Company’s activity. The students and teachers visited important headworks of Georgian Water and Power located in Aragvi gorge. They saw around unique water conduit and water collecting chamber of Natakhtari – the first water supply facility in Georgia commissioned in 1933.
The guests visited Grmaghele water supply system headwork in Tbilisi as well. Georgian Water and Power specialists gave a brief overview to the students about the Tbilisi water supply system infrastructure, explained the principles of its operation, described the ways of obtaining water resources and producing such a vital product as quality drinking water. They clarified how water is transported to Tbilisi and brought to the taps of the customers and why it is safe to drink tap water in Tbilisi. They also dwelt on the necessity of saving water resources and using them efficiently. Georgian Water and Power has been holding the educational and informational tours for several years now and will carry on holding similar events in the future as well.
