15/04/2014 Georgian Water and Power is carrying out preventive works on the wells of water supply system
Georgian Water and Power company has been carrying out planned preventive works on the junction and distribution wells located in the streets of Tbilisi since April of the current year. This technical measure is one of the components to ensure uninterrupted water supply and sustainable operation of water supply and piping systems.
About 7 000 the junction and distribution wells are located on the networks of various diameters of the capital city. Multipurpose valves of different diameters are installed in each of them. Preventive works on the wells of the water supply system stipulate cleaning of the wells and repair or replacement of the damaged covers or shut-off valves if any, as well as restoration of the well’s damaged walls.
Georgian Water and Power will perform planned technical works on about 300 junction and distribution wells on a monthly basis and repair in accordance with the plan about 2 700 wells of the water supply system by the end of 2014.
