23/04/2014 Georgian Water And Power“ Hosted the Students Of Medical University at the Central Laboratory
“Georgian Water and Power“ arranged informational and educational tour for the Tbilisi Medical University students today. 25 students of public health department of the Medical University visited today head work of Grmagele and Central chemical and microbiological laboratory for water quality control to share experience. The informational tour intended for the students was planned by “Georgian Water and Power“ specialists together with professors and teachers of of public health department of the Medical University.
The tour was entirely of educational nature aimed at providing as theoretical as visual information. The students saw firsthand basic technological processes of raw water transformation into drinking water. They understood that the tap water of Tbilisi is a product made by the company especially for the population of the capital city.
Specificity of the work of Central Chemical and Microbiological Laboratory of “Georgian Water and Power“, which is based on the strictly designed system of water quality monitoring, turned out to be especially interesting for the students of such peculiar profile as public health. The students witnessed control over organoleptic, chemical and microbiological quality and parameters of drinking water by the Laboratory specialists as well as chlorine dosage measurement and inspection of residual chlorine in drinking water.
Central Chemical and Microbiological Laboratory of “Georgian Water and Power“ is one of the first laboratories in Georgia accredited by ISO-17025 standards, which is a technically competent and independent entity. It continuously studies drinking water quality in 24-hour mode. The Central Laboratory coordinates operation of the rest of the Company’s laboratories.
