31/03/2010 Memorandum with Technical University
Today “Georgian Water and Power” and Technical university of Georgia signed a memorandum of cooperation. Signing ceremony was attended by official representatives of GWP and Ilia Chavchavadze State University.
The signing parties-Mr. Joerg Matthies, General Director of GWP on the one hand and Mr. Archil Prangishvili, Rector of the Technical University of Georgia on the other one agreed on number of important issues within the framework of the memorandum, including: improvement of water supply and drainage systems and joint solutions for the problem technical issues; Elaboration of joint projects with a view of new technologies establishment; Training of corresponding personnel; Equipment of training labs of University and their modernization; Offer of trainee jobs for successful graduating students of the Technical University at GWP.
Singing of memorandum is important both for GWP and Technical University. Fulfillment of issues stipulated by the memorandum will promote development of water supply and drainage systems, also attraction of young specialists. Within the framework of the memorandum, GWP will assist graduating students of Technical University in practical skills enhancement and their involvement in the company’s everyday activities”-General Director Mr. Joerg Matthies said. According to his words the memorandum also presumes further employment of the best student at the company.
