02/04/2012 Georgian Water and Power constructs two new reservoirs
In order to provide uninterrupted water supply in Tbilisi and provide the customers with high quality water Georgian Water and Power Company is carrying out all-inclusive rehabilitation works. Within the limits of the project the Company is constructing two new reservoirs in Vazisubani and Lilo, where the population is still supplied water on schedule.
Construction of the reservoirs started in January of the current year and will be completed by the end of June. After Vazisubani-I becomes fully operative water supply schedule will be cancelled for the population of Vazisubani m/r, Moscow avenue, Bogdan Khmelnitski, Kindzmarauli and their adjacent streets as well as for the population of upper part of Metromsheni.
The works are also in progress in Lilo where a new reservoir is being constructed. After Lilo reservoir is commissioned drinking water will be uninterruptedly supplied to Lilo, Vaziani Military and Saknavti settlements, villages of Lilo and Gamarjveba, Yumashev str. Enterprizes and facilities based in Lilo.
Presently almost 90% of Tbilisi is uninterruptedly supplied drinking water. According to the assumed obligation Georgian Water and Power Company will ensure 100 % uninterrupted water supply for the population within the old borders of Tbilisi.
