02/09/2009 Start up of the Rehabilitated Main Conduits Will Considerably Improve Rustavi Water Supply
GWP and “Rustavtskalkanali” which are included in one investment group have completed joint large-scale reconstruction works of two 800 mm main conduits in Rustavi. As a result of the rehabilitation of the main conduit water supply of Rustavi population will be stable and reliable. The risk of emergencies and water losses in the network will be reduced to minimum. It will considerably save water resources and reduce the consumption of electricity. The savings will be used for the modernization of water supply and sewerage systems of Rustavi.
Joerg Matthies General Director of GWP, David Kirkitatdze president’s representative in Kvemo Kartli and managerial personnel of the company visited the connection works of the system to the operating main conduits which started from today 6 a.m.
The reconstruction was included in the list of urgent rehabilitation works and GEL 1 million was allocated for this purpose. Before starting the rehabilitation works losses of drinking water from the damaged conduits were about 150-200 l/sec.
